Film Interests and Guidelines

 Documentary films can inspire any average person to achieve something that’s never been done before. If you’ve got a story that gives us hope in the human spirit, we’d love to hear about it. 

We are a team of environmentalists. We love to see films that give attention to the host of terrifying environmental challenges currently facing us and coming down the pipe. Character-centered stories are key here. Effective stories in this space need to walk a fine line to make it through the barriers people put up between themselves and unthinkably scary issues. Show us how you plan to do it. 

Show us people coming together to build, create, or achieve something extraordinary as a group. Whether it’s revitalizing a neighborhood or organizing a social movement, the emphasis is on collaboration and shared purpose. Beyond Boundaries is more than just a name. Film is a collective act, and some of the best docs in history show us what can happen when the goal is bigger than the individual.

Cinema should thrill. When the rapid on the screen is real and the person in the boat is both stunt-person and main character, the stakes feel high. We’re looking for a film to remind us of the places out there willing to test what we’re made of. We like characters who find out who they are by pushing physical limits, looking for the edge of the map, and then by going off.
